Anthropic launches Claude Haiku 5.5 with prices cut by up to 90%

Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5, its fastest and cheapest small model, designed for high-volume, cost-sensitive tasks such as summarization, database queries and customer support. The model costs about 75 percent less than Haiku 4.5 on average, and prices drop by up to 90 percent for prompts up to 100,000 tokens, which Anthropic says account for roughly 90 percent of previous Haiku requests. Haiku 5.5 is available now on AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.

NoteBanks running high-volume AI work such as customer service queries or compliance checks get a steep cost cut: Haiku 5.5 prices drop up to 90 percent against its predecessor, and Anthropic halved Sonnet 5.5's cache-read price in the same announcement, a sign of how fast the AI price war is moving.

OpenAI rolls out GPT-6 with an interactive 'Intelligent UI' in ChatGPT

OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 globally in ChatGPT with a new 'Intelligent UI' that presents answers as interactive charts, buttons and small tools built into the chat instead of plain text, adapting its format to each question. Paying users get GPT-6 Sol while free users get GPT-6 Luna, and GPT-6 can keep responding while still 'thinking,' which OpenAI says cuts wait times by 44 percent.

NoteBanks and wealth platforms building client tools on ChatGPT will now see answers arrive as interactive charts and built-in mini-apps, so compliance teams will need to review that visual output before customers see it.
