OpenAI’s Decisions API is now available to all customers

OpenAI made its Decisions API model widely available on Thursday, after announcing it at its developer day on September 29. In initial trials, customers including Box, Datadog, Ramp and Speak used the API to replace OpenAI’s LLMs with higher throughput.

NoteTechCrunch says it is not clear what makes a good decision model, and that optimization across intelligence, cost, calibration and speed seems to differ by workload.

Major US banks are restricting external AI agent access, Axios reports

Several major US banks, including Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Bank of America and Wells Fargo, are restricting external AI agent access, according to Axios. Most want to limit agents to read-only access, letting them view account data but not carry out any actions.

NoteMany banks also can’t tell whether an agent is acting on a user’s behalf, and The Decoder says blocking agents on the provider side will be hard.
