BMO is introducing AI Agent Assist for credit card clients

Finextra reports that BMO is introducing AI Agent Assist to help clients get faster answers and resolutions when they contact BMO's Virtual Connect contact centre about their credit card transactions.

NoteThe tool sits in the contact centre, the channel where clients ask about credit card transactions, and that makes it a practical test of AI in service work.

Thinking Machines is introducing Inkling 2 Small, its second model generation

Thinking Machines is introducing Inkling 2 Small, a mixture-of-experts model with 594B total parameters and 17B active. Thinking Machines says Inkling 2 Small far surpasses its previous models on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, and it intends to make the full weights available under an Apache 2.0 license next week. The Decoder says the better results come partly at the cost of higher token usage.

NoteFor banks and insurers weighing open models, the question to test is how much extra token use a gain costs.
