Finastra adds AI recommendations to fix failed bank payments
Finastra launched Repair Recommendations on September 29 at Sibos in Miami, a feature inside its AI OperatorAssist platform that flags payment discrepancies across Swift, Fedwire, SEPA, UPI and Nexus, diagnoses the likely cause and suggests a compliant fix for staff to approve. Finastra payments EVP Barry Rodrigues said the tool aims to cut resolution times and reduce errors as payment volumes grow.
NoteThe tool recommends rather than executes, keeping a person in the loop on every fix. That is the shape agentic AI is taking in payments operations for now: vendors are competing on how much of the diagnosis they can automate while leaving the final call, and the compliance exposure, with bank staff.
