Anthropic expands Cyber Verification Program with a tier for banking infrastructure
Anthropic said it expanded its Cyber Verification Program into three tiers that give qualifying security professionals reduced safeguards on Claude Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5 and Mythos 5.1. Its top tier, Specialized Access, is reserved for testing flight operating systems, power grids and interbank transfer infrastructure, reviewed in collaboration with the US government, and partners in the predecessor program found at least 129,000 verified vulnerabilities between April and July 2026.
NotePutting interbank transfer infrastructure in the same tier as flight controls and power grids shows how seriously AI labs now treat banks' payment rails as a target worth hardening with AI-assisted testing.
