Google's unified Gemini agent goes to businesses before consumers

At a Google Cloud event on Thursday, the company announced a unified agent that can get things done on the user's behalf, and businesses get it before consumers. The agent gets its own Workspace account and email address, and it writes an audit trail attributed to the agent, instead of a person. Google CEO Sundar Pichai said Gemini has over 1 billion monthly active users.
NoteFor banks and payment firms, the audit trail matters: an agent working inside company systems records its actions under its own name. Controls for that record are a question to settle before rollout.
