UOB signed an MoU with AWS for a Singapore cloud serving ASEAN banking

UOB has signed a MoU with Amazon Web Services to explore a dedicated cloud environment in Singapore for its five ASEAN markets. The collaboration aims to help UOB meet regulatory and data residency requirements, with initial focus on hybrid cloud architecture, data analytics and AI-powered customer engagement. According to the companies, it is the first collaboration between AWS and a bank to combine hybrid cloud capabilities in ASEAN.
NoteThis is a proposed model still at the exploration stage: UOB would run its systems and data across its own infrastructure and cloud environments, with an isolated cloud extension that could be deployed in specific countries to meet local regulatory requirements.
