DeepSeek releases open-weight V4.1-Flash-1017 and makes search tools available
DeepSeek released Deepseek-V4.1-Flash-1017 as an open-weight model on Hugging Face and ModelScope. In DeepSeek's own benchmarks it scores 77.0 percent on DeepSWE at an average cost of just under $0.20 per task, against 74.2 percent at around $0.50 for its predecessor. The Decoder notes that independent benchmarks haven't come out yet. DeepSeek is also making Search and Fetch APIs available to developers at $0.75 per 1,000 calls.
NoteVendor benchmarks are the only numbers so far, so a bank evaluating open-weight agent models would wait for independent tests. The price per task is the figure to watch for high-volume back-office agents.
