Visa pilots AI agents completing invoice payments through supplier portals
Visa said the collaboration is the first live pilot to allow AI agents "to initiate and complete approved buyer invoice payments end-to-end through supplier portals." Visa's release says the authorized BILL Payment Agent is registered using Visa's Trusted Agent Protocol and Agentic Directory, and uses tokenized payment credentials.
NoteAgent payments here are invoices between businesses, and the open question is how many supplier portals will accept agent authentication.
