OpenAI is merging Chat and Work in ChatGPT, with one token budget from December
According to an updated OpenAI support page, Plus, Pro and Business plans will share a single token budget across ChatGPT and Codex starting in December, as OpenAI folds Work's agentic features into the main interface. The Decoder says chats with Instant models won't count toward that budget, but heavy use on cheaper plans will likely mean lower-quality results.
NoteFor banks and fintechs that give staff paid ChatGPT plans, complex work will eat through the shared budget faster than simple chats.
