UOB expands AI financing and workshops for Singapore SMEs
UOB expanded AI Ready 2.0, its programme with Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority, adding financing support and hands-on prototyping workshops to help small businesses build AI agent use cases such as sales prospecting and tender preparation. The bank has engaged more than 600 SMEs since launch and aims to reach 3,000 within three years.
NoteBanks are increasingly positioning AI adoption support as a lending and relationship tool for SME customers, not just an internal efficiency play, which is a cheap way for a bank to stay close to a segment that is otherwise hard to serve profitably.
