Santander says AI initiatives generate 194 million euros in business value
Spanish bank Santander said AI initiatives generated 194 million euros ($216 million) in business value in the first nine months of 2026. Its CFO, José García Cantera, told CNBC that AI is helping the bank reduce low-value tasks so employees can focus on higher-value work.
NoteCantera said it is hard to separate how much of the bank's results come from AI, so the figure is a useful signal for finance teams tracking payback but not a clean return on investment.
