Wells Fargo uses AI, in some cases autonomous agents, across its operations
Scharf, Wells Fargo's chairman and CEO, said on Tuesday (Oct. 13) during a third quarter earnings call that the bank is devoting "significant management time and resources" to AI. The bank is using AI and, in some cases, autonomous agents to write code faster, launch marketing campaigns faster, and accelerate response times for underwriting decisions and customer complaints. Scharf also said an AI-powered tool streamlines financial advisors’ routine work.
NoteThe list runs from writing code and launching marketing campaigns to customer complaints and underwriting decisions. Scharf also said the bank is taking a disciplined approach to managing risk.
